Our group utilitizes all kind of geodetic (e.g., levelling, trilateration , triangulation,
GPS, and VLBI ) data in the study of crustal deformation.
Our studies cover the full spectrum of crustal deformation from inter-seismic, co-seismic, to post-seismic
deformation. Seismic hazard estimation and stress modeling
are two natural extensions of our research effort.
We are one of the earliest groups to use GPS to study the crustal deformation of Southern
California and we are still carrying out "campaign mode" GPS surveys todate.
Our footprints have
covered every corner of Southern California from the Pacific to the Mojave and from Cholame to San Diego.
Our group collect, process, analyse, and model GPS data. We are key members in the
Crustal Deformation Working Group
of the Southern California Earthquake Center.
